The Oscars are over, but celebrities are still enjoying the goodies in their gift bags. This year, it looks like Hollywood has gone digital. For participating in the ceremony, each presenter received a gift package containing:
- A Motorola PEBL phone.
- VTech’s IP8100 cordless phone for use with Vonage.
- 30 Gig iPod Video.
- Blackberry 8700c.
- Canon PowerShot SD30 Digital Elph.
- Canon Selphy CP510 Compact Photo Printer.
- Firefly (a mobile phone for kids).
- Harman Multimedia JBL On Stage (iPod speakers).
- Harman Kardon Drive+Play (controller to integrate your iPod into your car).
- 1-year Netflix subscription.
Anyway, my source (PC Magazine) only reported the gadgets each celebrity received. Last year, each package was apparently worth more than $100,000. The total value of the above items is only about $2,500. Given Hollywood’s penchant for excess, it’s likely that this year each recipient received many more valuable items on top of all this.
